About the AVI1861 PCB

AVI1861 is an open source PCB design by dmadole, published on GitHub under the GPL-2.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 29.9 × 17.2 mm, with 9 components from 8 distinct parts.

Other key parts include the LINE, FRAME, 4014, 4040 and 74LVC1G17. By type, the board carries 6 ICs, 2 capacitors and 1 connector.

From the project

An update of the AVI1861 drop-in replacement for the CDP1861

Note: I have found in testing that a 74HC4040 works consistently well where the CD4040 previously specified may require parts to be hand-picked, so I have changed the BOM to the HCMOS part. I have also updated the FRAME PLD code to output a 8-line-wide vertical sync pulse instead of 16 lines as, while this is different than the CDP1861, it does improve display quality on some analog monitors and I don't think hurts anything. I am calling this revision B1 as there is no circuit board change.
