About the Dragon controller PCB

Dragon controller is an open source STM32 PCB design by Doc-Raptor, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 100 × 95 mm, with 84 components from 57 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the STM32F103RETx, from the STM32 family. Other key parts include the MP2451, RT9013-33GB and Pololu_Breakout_A4988. By type, the board carries 30 connectors, 23 capacitors, 12 resistors, 4 modules, 4 diodes and 3 ICs.

From the project

32bit 3d-printer controller board for 3d printers from china with the anet-stlye controller-board

This is a controller-board for 3d printers from china which are based on the anet printers and using an 8-bit board with on-board stepper driver and sometimes no fuse-protection (and no thermal-run-away). This board is a low cost replacement with an stm32f103ret and socketed stepper drivers. It is also capable of runnung from 24v.

Dragon controller: common questions

What microcontroller does the Dragon controller use?

The Dragon controller is built around the STM32F103RETx, from the STM32 family.

How big is the Dragon controller PCB?

The Dragon controller measures 100 × 95 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Dragon controller?

84 components, from 57 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Dragon controller design files?

From the Doc-Raptor/dragon_controller repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Dragon controller design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with Doc-Raptor. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Dragon controller without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug STM32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
