About the K2500-PRAM PCB

K2500-PRAM is an open source PCB design by dojoe, published on GitHub under the CC-BY-SA-4.0 license. It is a 4-layer board measuring 114.3 × 18.4 mm, with 7 components from 4 distinct parts.

Other key parts include the AS6C4008-55ZIN. By type, the board carries 4 capacitors, 2 ICs and 1 connector.

It belongs with the audio designs in this gallery.

A P/RAM extension remake for Kurzweil K2500 synthesizers

Because people are demanding upwards of 100$ on eBay for a part that is simple to make and costs about 20$.

It's basically just a 1MB SRAM board in a 512Kx16 configuration. The original board had eight 128Kx8 SRAMs and some address decoders, but thanks to modern technology we don't need that level of complexity as we can just tack two 512Kx8 SRAMs together. With that, the only tricky part is to get all those wires routed while keeping a low card profile, which is what I did.
