About the Lisa-Twiggy-Breakout-Board

Lisa-Twiggy-Breakout-Board is an open source AVR/Arduino PCB design by DosFox1, published on GitHub under the GPL-3.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 198.1 × 50.8 mm, with 32 components from 31 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the Arduino_Pro_Micro_5V_16MHz, from the AVR/Arduino family. Other key parts include the L7905. By type, the board carries 15 connectors, 6 jumpers, 3 switches, 3 resistors, 2 capacitors and 1 IC.

It belongs with the dev boards & breakouts designs in this gallery.

From the project

A fork of Roland Juno's original Lisa breakout board - now with Twiggy!

However, 800K drives and Floppy Emu generate their own PWM signal - so that pin is usually left disconnected. As a result, you can use a passive adapter for those drives.

Note, in the surprising event that you have an actual Twiggy Drive, please note this probably will not work. This is because to two signals (sense and read) are tied together for the 800K drive. I felt a bit lazy and didn't add a way to keep these separate. If you have a Twiggy, cut and strap I guess?

Lisa-Twiggy-Breakout-Board: common questions

What microcontroller does the Lisa-Twiggy-Breakout-Board use?

The Lisa-Twiggy-Breakout-Board is built around the Arduino_Pro_Micro_5V_16MHz, from the AVR/Arduino family.

How big is the Lisa-Twiggy-Breakout-Board?

The Lisa-Twiggy-Breakout-Board measures 198.1 × 50.8 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Lisa-Twiggy-Breakout-Board?

32 components, from 31 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Lisa-Twiggy-Breakout-Board design files?

From the DosFox1/Lisa-Twiggy-Breakout-Board repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Lisa-Twiggy-Breakout-Board design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its GPL-3.0 license, which DosFox1 chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Lisa-Twiggy-Breakout-Board without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
