From the project

Internet Connected or Standard Input EPaper Display

Here you'll find the files you will need to reproduce Paperback. There are two boards:

PaperBackDisplay The Display breakout board. Can take an ESP32 Development Kit and run the display without the Video converter board. PaperBackConverter The VGA conversion board. Takes VGA, captures a frame, puts it in memory, then outputs to the ePaper screen. You can't run the ESP32 if you choose to dock board 2! Do not insert it!.

PaperBack Converter: common questions

What microcontroller does the PaperBack Converter use?

The PaperBack Converter is built around the ATMEGA328-AU, from the AVR/Arduino family.

How big is the PaperBack Converter PCB?

The PaperBack Converter measures 76.2 × 76.2 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the PaperBack Converter?

75 components, from 25 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the PaperBack Converter design files?

From the dqydj/PaperBack_EPaper_Display repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the PaperBack Converter design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which dqydj chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the PaperBack Converter without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
