About the SdraKb00 PCB

SdraKb00 is an open source AVR/Arduino PCB design by drabaioli, published on GitHub under the MIT license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 176.2 × 83.4 mm, with 85 components from 22 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ATmega32U4-A, from the AVR/Arduino family. Other key parts include the PRTR5V0U2X. By type, the board carries 24 switches, 13 diodes, 11 LEDs, 10 resistors, 9 capacitors and 2 ICs.

It belongs with the keyboards designs in this gallery.

From the project

Hot-swap macropad with rotary encoder

12 keys hot-swap macropad with rotary encoder.

- 11 hot-swap keys - Rotary encoder with push button - AtMega32U4 MCU - Per-key RGB led for backlighting - USB-C connector - On PCB SPI header - MCU reset button - Switch mounting plate - Power LED indicator

The production/ folder contains files required for manufacturing the board, namely the SdraKb00.zip is an export (JLCPCB accepted format) of the gerber files and the BOM. The BOM was edited to add links to JLCPCB parts. Both files can be used to get the PCB manufactured by JLCPCB with relative components.

SdraKb00: common questions

What microcontroller does the SdraKb00 use?

The SdraKb00 is built around the ATmega32U4-A, from the AVR/Arduino family.

How big is the SdraKb00 PCB?

The SdraKb00 measures 176.2 × 83.4 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the SdraKb00?

85 components, from 22 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the SdraKb00 design files?

From the drabaioli/SdraKb00 repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the SdraKb00 design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which drabaioli chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the SdraKb00 without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
