About the CH32V003J4M6 PCB

CH32V003J4M6 is an open source RISC-V PCB design by dwillmore, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 21.6 × 16.5 mm, with 12 components from 7 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the SO-8_3.9x4.9mm_P1.27mm, from the RISC-V family. Other key parts include the AMS1117-3.3. By type, the board carries 5 resistors, 3 connectors, 2 ICs and 2 capacitors.

It belongs with the dev boards & breakouts designs in this gallery.

KiCAD designs for CH32V003 boards

All boards have USB-C connections for data and/or power. The data is connected via two series resistors. Not populating these allows the pins on the chip to be used for something else.

The on board 3.3V regulator can be left off and bypassed to run the board on Vbus power. The regulator is used for when the D+/D- lines are connected to use use from the CH32V003 via rv003usb.

CH32V003J4M6: common questions

What microcontroller does the CH32V003J4M6 use?

The CH32V003J4M6 is built around the SO-8_3.9x4.9mm_P1.27mm, from the RISC-V family.

How big is the CH32V003J4M6 PCB?

The CH32V003J4M6 measures 21.6 × 16.5 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 0.89 mm thick.

How many components are on the CH32V003J4M6?

12 components, from 7 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the CH32V003J4M6 design files?

From the dwillmore/CH32V003boards repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the CH32V003J4M6 design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with dwillmore. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the CH32V003J4M6 without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RISC-V firmware against it before you order a PCB.
