From the project

Tiny beetle board based on the CH32V003 10-cent chip.

The Tiny Scarab is an open-source development board built around the popular 10 cent CH32V003F4P6 RISC-V microcontroller from WCH. Using this dev board is uncomplicated: just plug it into your computer with a USB-C cable, and you're ready to code - the flasher/debugger is already embedded in the board for your convenience. Now you might wonder - why yet another dev board? Aren't there thousands already?

Tiny scarab: common questions

What microcontroller does the Tiny scarab use?

The Tiny scarab is built around the CH32V305FBP6, from the RISC-V family.

How big is the Tiny scarab PCB?

The Tiny scarab measures 46 × 76 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.6062 mm thick.

How many components are on the Tiny scarab?

124 components, from 38 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Tiny scarab design files?

From the Embeetle/tiny-scarab repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Tiny scarab design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which Embeetle chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Tiny scarab without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RISC-V firmware against it before you order a PCB.
