About the Node rev.2 PCB

Node rev.2 is an open source RP2040/RP2350 PCB design by engelberd, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 52.7 × 104.5 mm, with 14 components from 12 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the RaspberryPi_Pico, from the RP2040/RP2350 family. Other key parts include the OKI-78SR-5_1_5-W36-C and LP2950CZ-3.3/NOPB. By type, the board carries 5 capacitors, 2 ICs, 2 connectors, 1 module, 1 fuse and 1 diode.

It belongs with the sensors designs in this gallery.

The directory name is historical. This is an unreleased custom-board design, not the definition of the V2 boards installed in Sanok. Installed V2 wiring is defined by node/config/boardprofile.h`: SCK 14, MOSI 15, MISO 12, CS 13, DRDY 11, INT1 10 and no firmware-controlled DE pin. Do not change the firmware revision map from the in-progress KiCad project without a physical bring-up and an explicit new board revision.

Node rev.2: common questions

What microcontroller does the Node rev.2 use?

The Node rev.2 is built around the RaspberryPi_Pico, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.

How big is the Node rev.2 PCB?

The Node rev.2 measures 52.7 × 104.5 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 0.19 mm thick.

How many components are on the Node rev.2?

14 components, from 12 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Node rev.2 design files?

From the engelberd/sensor-system repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Node rev.2 design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with engelberd. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Node rev.2 without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
