Its main chip is the STM32H725ZGT, from the STM32 family. Other key parts include the AP62300WU-7, USB2517, MCP2542FDT-H/MNY, NCS20071SN2T1G and TPS25944ARVCR. By type, the board carries 125 resistors, 51 capacitors, 17 LEDs, 16 ICs, 9 transistors and 8 inductors.

From the project

Optimize the board layout and fully route the KiCad project in this repository. The schematic is loosely based on our panda jungle v2.

Optimize the board layout and fully route the KiCad project in this repository. The schematic is loosely based on our panda jungle v2.

The bare PCB must be fully manufacturable by JLCPCB. It must be possible to assemble the components by hand. The assembled product must work and be usable. Schematic and BOM changes are allowed, provided that the intended functionality of the original design is preserved.

Challenge: common questions

What microcontroller does the Challenge use?

The Challenge is built around the STM32H725ZGT, from the STM32 family.

How big is the Challenge PCB?

The Challenge measures 67.2 × 64.4 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Challenge?

238 components, from 47 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Challenge design files?

From the FAliIAM/Challenge repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Challenge design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with FAliIAM. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Challenge without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug STM32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
