About the Purge PCB

Purge is an open source STM32 PCB design by Firestorm108, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 49.8 × 75.8 mm, with 72 components from 27 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the C122552, from the STM32 family. Other key parts include the L7805ABD2T-TR, USBLC6-2SC6, LD1117S33TR_SOT223, TC4420EOA713 and TLP2362(TPL,E. By type, the board carries 30 capacitors, 20 resistors, 8 ICs, 6 diodes, 4 connectors and 2 crystals.

From the project

a plasma cleaner

Purge is a specialized type of plasma cleaner. There are zero electrodes in the vacuum chamber, meaning the sterility levels are very high, atomically sterile even. There are three stages to the process.

Purge: common questions

What microcontroller does the Purge use?

The Purge is built around the C122552, from the STM32 family.

How big is the Purge PCB?

The Purge measures 49.8 × 75.8 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Purge?

72 components, from 27 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Purge design files?

From the Firestorm108/purge repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Purge design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with Firestorm108. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Purge without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug STM32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
