About the Amazepad PCB

Amazepad is an open source PCB design by fish-in-a-puddle, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 97 × 70 mm, with 17 components from 7 distinct parts.

Other key parts include the MOUDLE-SEEEDUINO-XIAO and ER_OLEDM0.91_1x-I2C. By type, the board carries 7 switches, 6 diodes, 2 ICs and 1 resistor.

It belongs with the displays & leds and keyboards designs in this gallery.

A hackpad featuring a small display with Rocky from Project Hail Mary to help with your projects

A hackpad with six keys, a rotary encoder and a small OLED display featuring Rocky from Project Hail Mary to help you with your projects.

A few weeks ago, I saw an interesting project on Reddit - a small voice assistant on a Raspberry Pi that talked like Rocky from Project Hail Mary. I had also been looking at the hackpads submitted through Stardance, so I thought "What about a hackpad with an engineering friend to encourage you?". This Rocky doesn't respond to questions, of course, but he shows different messages on the OLED depending on how fast you're typing.

Amazepad: common questions

How big is the Amazepad PCB?

The Amazepad measures 97 × 70 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Amazepad?

17 components, from 7 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Amazepad design files?

From the fish-in-a-puddle/Amazepad repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Amazepad design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with fish-in-a-puddle. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.
