Pebble

About the Pebble PCB

Pebble is an open source STM32 PCB design by gelato16, published on GitHub. It is a board, with 26 components from 14 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the STM32F072CBT6, from the STM32 family. Other key parts include the PRTR5V0U2X, XC6206PxxxMR-Regulator_Linear and TXB0101. By type, the board carries 12 capacitors, 4 ICs, 4 resistors, 3 connectors and 1 fuse.

It belongs with the keyboards designs in this gallery.

From the project

A 65% keyboard with fully custom parts designed using KiCAD and Solidworks.

assembly guild: 1. Solder all parts onto PCB (including capacitors, diodes and hot swap sockets) 2. Flash the microcontroller (plug into computer and use the VIA app) 3. lower the pcb into the casing 4. attack stablizers to the underside of the switch plate 5. place switch plate on top of casing (be careful to align the keys) 6. press all 69 keys into their positions 7. place bezel on top of switch plate and screw into place (9 M3 16mm screws) 8. click keycaps onto key switches

Pebble: common questions

What microcontroller does the Pebble use?

The Pebble is built around the STM32F072CBT6, from the STM32 family.

How many components are on the Pebble?

26 components, from 14 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Pebble design files?

From the gelato16/Pebble repository on GitHub, which has the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Pebble design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with gelato16. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Pebble without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug STM32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
