About the Hackpad2.0 PCB

Hackpad2.0 is an open source RP2040/RP2350 PCB design by Gituseraum, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 87.5 × 62.5 mm, with 8 components from 4 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the XIAO-RP2040-SMD, from the RP2040/RP2350 family. By type, the board carries 4 switches, 2 diodes, 1 IC and 1 LED.

It belongs with the displays & leds designs in this gallery.

Hackpad I designed to hopefully run doom on

[ x ] I ran DRC in KiCad and have made sure there are 0 errors!

CAD Model: Everything fits together using 4 M3 Heatset inserts and 4 M3x16mm screws. Here's how it looks:

It was made in fusion360 pretty nifty stuff.

Hackpad2.0: common questions

What microcontroller does the Hackpad2.0 use?

The Hackpad2.0 is built around the XIAO-RP2040-SMD, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.

How big is the Hackpad2.0 PCB?

The Hackpad2.0 measures 87.5 × 62.5 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Hackpad2.0?

8 components, from 4 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Hackpad2.0 design files?

From the Gituseraum/Hackpack repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Hackpad2.0 design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with Gituseraum. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Hackpad2.0 without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
