am-radio

A classic 1960's style 455 kHz superheterodyne AM receiver, 4.5 V (3×AAA), negative ground, six 2N3904 NPN transistors:

- am-radio.kicadsch / am-radio.kicadpcb / am-radio.kicadpro — the project. - audio.kicadsym — custom symbols: Xicon 42IF10x IF transformer, 42IF110 oscillator coil, 42TU013 / 42TU200 audio transformers (6-pin, pin numbers match the footprint pads), 2-gang polyvaricon, ferrite rod coil, VRF power symbol. Your original IFTransformerAM symbol is kept for reference. - audio.pretty/ — footprints: Xicon42IF10x (0.4" can, 3+3 pins on 0.135" pitch, rows 0.27" apart, from Xicon…

Am radio: common questions

How big is the Am radio PCB?

The Am radio measures 110 × 83 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Am radio?

47 components, from 31 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Am radio design files?

From the gjyoung1974/am-radio repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Am radio design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with gjyoung1974. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.
