About the Qsd4 PCB

Qsd4 is an open source PCB design by Greg-R, published on GitHub under the GPL-3.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 100 × 75 mm, with 65 components from 27 distinct parts.

Other key parts include the SN74CBT3253, SN74AC74PW, AD8226ARZ-R7, AP2120N-2.5TRG1 and GALI-39. By type, the board carries 28 capacitors, 22 resistors, 7 ICs, 4 connectors and 3 inductors.

It belongs with the rf & radio designs in this gallery.

From the project

This is the PCB for the QSD4 receiver module for the T41 "Software Defined Transceiver". The PCB was designed using the open-source design tool Kicad 7.

This is the PCB for the QSD4 receiver module for the T41 "Software Defined Transceiver". The PCB was designed using the open-source design tool Kicad 7.

The QSD4 evolved from the original V010 design which remains the most recently published receiver module for the T41 Software Defined Transceiver.

The goals of the QSD4 are to improve receiver performance, and in particular, the performance in the 10 meter amateur radio band. Please note that the designer of this project does not own a laboratory full of expensive test equipment. Much of the verification of the receiver performance has been…

Qsd4: common questions

How big is the Qsd4 PCB?

The Qsd4 measures 100 × 75 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Qsd4?

65 components, from 27 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Qsd4 design files?

From the Greg-R/qsd4 repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Qsd4 design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its GPL-3.0 license, which Greg-R chose for the repository.
