About the Radio PCB

Radio is an open source PCB design by hedj, published on GitHub under the GPL-2.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 65 × 56 mm, with 89 components from 34 distinct parts.

Other key parts include the G144A12, NCP1117ST18T3G and NCP1117ST33T3G. By type, the board carries 8 capacitors, 3 ICs, 3 diodes, 2 LEDs, 2 inductors and 1 connector.

It belongs with the rf & radio designs in this gallery.

From the project

A minimal software-defined radio, based on the GreenArrays GA144A12 microprocessor. Provision is made for connection to a Raspberry Pi B+ and shields. The GA144 analog i/o pins are brought out to pin-headers to allow for different choices of RF frontends.

Radio: common questions

How big is the Radio PCB?

The Radio measures 65 × 56 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Radio?

89 components, from 34 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Radio design files?

From the hedj/radio repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Radio design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its GPL-2.0 license, which hedj chose for the repository.
