About the Oven PCB
Oven is an open source AVR/Arduino PCB design by hpvdt, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 54.6 × 108 mm, with 20 components from 18 distinct parts.
Its main chip is the ATmega328-AU, from the AVR/Arduino family. Other key parts include the MAX6675. By type, the board carries 10 connectors, 4 capacitors, 2 ICs, 1 crystal, 1 buzzer and 1 jumper.
It belongs with the displays & leds designs in this gallery, and the repository also holds 3 earlier revisions of it.
From the project
Generic Composite Oven Controller
Our team's generic composite oven controller. Used to maintain a desired two-step curing cycle recommended for the majority of our composites. Each step is defined with a target temperature, a ramp speed to reach it at (e.g. 2 degC/minute), and hold time at that temperature.
The control system is pretty simple, a single K-type thermocouple is used to monitor the temperature in the oven, and a simple "ON/OFF" scheme is used to operate the relay that controls the power to the heater. Turning ON when below a threshold, and then OFF once the upper threshold is surpassed.

Oven: common questions
What microcontroller does the Oven use?
The Oven is built around the ATmega328-AU, from the AVR/Arduino family.
How big is the Oven PCB?
The Oven measures 54.6 × 108 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.
How many components are on the Oven?
20 components, from 18 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.
Where can I download the Oven design files?
From the hpvdt/oven repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.
Can I use the Oven design in my own project?
The repository has no license, so all rights stay with hpvdt. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.
Can I test firmware for the Oven without the hardware?
Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
