About the Grabert PCB

Grabert is an open source STM32 PCB design by hsaito18, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 285.8 × 120.7 mm, with 78 components from 27 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the C44854, from the STM32 family. Other key parts include the C85364. By type, the board carries 59 switches, 7 capacitors, 6 connectors, 4 resistors and 2 ICs.

It belongs with the keyboards and displays & leds designs in this gallery.

From the project

Building a 4x4 macro keyboard using left-over Cherry MX Red key switches and left-over keycaps. Will use AT90USB1286 microcontroller, since the typical ATMega microcontroller is unavailable.

Grabert: common questions

What microcontroller does the Grabert use?

The Grabert is built around the C44854, from the STM32 family.

How big is the Grabert PCB?

The Grabert measures 285.8 × 120.7 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Grabert?

78 components, from 27 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Grabert design files?

From the hsaito18/mini-keyboard repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Grabert design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with hsaito18. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Grabert without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug STM32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
