About the V2-candidate snapshot PCB

V2-candidate snapshot is an open source RP2040/RP2350 PCB design by iamdarshg, published on GitHub. It is a 4-layer board measuring 159 × 159 mm, with 344 components from 139 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the BGS12WN6E6327, from the RP2040/RP2350 family. Other key parts include the AD9215BCPZ-105, BGA614H6327XTSA1, LD1117V-3V3, LIF-MD6000-6JMG80I and KSZ9031RNXCA. By type, the board carries 177 capacitors, 85 resistors, 28 ICs, 28 inductors, 9 connectors and 6 diodes.

It belongs with the rf & radio designs in this gallery.

hardware and software implementations for a FPGA based ultra-wideband software deifned radio

This is the modular KiCad 9 receiver/control-board redesign. It covers 100 MHz-10 GHz with 40 MHz useful real bandwidth. It is explicitly not an ESC; the ESC remains a separate external board.

V2-candidate snapshot: common questions

What microcontroller does the V2-candidate snapshot use?

The V2-candidate snapshot is built around the BGS12WN6E6327, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.

How big is the V2-candidate snapshot PCB?

The V2-candidate snapshot measures 159 × 159 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the V2-candidate snapshot?

344 components, from 139 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the V2-candidate snapshot design files?

From the iamdarshg/Code-SDR repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the V2-candidate snapshot design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with iamdarshg. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the V2-candidate snapshot without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
