About the Ember RF v0 PCB

Ember RF v0 is an open source RP2040/RP2350 PCB design by IITB-Rocket-Team-Avionics, published on GitHub under the MIT license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 55.8 × 90.5 mm, with 29 components from 20 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the PICO-PKG-SMD, from the RP2040/RP2350 family. By type, the board carries 9 resistors, 7 capacitors, 4 ICs, 2 transistors, 2 jumpers and 1 connector.

It belongs with the rf & radio and sensors designs in this gallery.

Ember RF v0: common questions

What microcontroller does the Ember RF v0 use?

The Ember RF v0 is built around the PICO-PKG-SMD, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.

How big is the Ember RF v0 PCB?

The Ember RF v0 measures 55.8 × 90.5 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.62 mm thick.

How many components are on the Ember RF v0?

29 components, from 20 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Ember RF v0 design files?

From the IITB-Rocket-Team-Avionics/Ember repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Ember RF v0 design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which IITB-Rocket-Team-Avionics chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Ember RF v0 without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
