About the Ember v0.2 PCB

Ember v0.2 is an open source RP2040/RP2350 PCB design by IITB-Rocket-Team-Avionics, published on GitHub under the MIT license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 75 × 99.5 mm, with 89 components from 33 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the RPi Pico 2, from the RP2040/RP2350 family. Other key parts include the LDO Regulator 5v, BNO055, BMP280 and ADS1220xPW. By type, the board carries 44 resistors, 14 capacitors, 9 ICs, 6 connectors, 5 transistors and 5 jumpers.

It belongs with the rf & radio and sensors designs in this gallery.

Ember v0.2: common questions

What microcontroller does the Ember v0.2 use?

The Ember v0.2 is built around the RPi Pico 2, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.

How big is the Ember v0.2 PCB?

The Ember v0.2 measures 75 × 99.5 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Ember v0.2?

89 components, from 33 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Ember v0.2 design files?

From the IITB-Rocket-Team-Avionics/Ember repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Ember v0.2 design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which IITB-Rocket-Team-Avionics chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Ember v0.2 without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
