About the ATTinyX14-development board

ATTinyX14-development board is an open source AVR/Arduino PCB design by jenschr, published on GitHub under the MIT license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 39.4 × 16.2 mm, with 23 components from 17 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ATTINY1614-SSNR, from the AVR/Arduino family. Other key parts include the AP2112K-3.3TRG1 and CH340E. By type, the board carries 6 resistors, 4 connectors, 3 ICs, 3 capacitors, 2 inductors and 1 diode.

It belongs with the dev boards & breakouts and usb & debug tools designs in this gallery.

From the project

Tiny breadboard compatible development board based on either ATTiny414, ATTiny814 or ATTiny1614

The board has a builtin LED on (PA5) and a button (PA4) for testing. The Serial chip has a LED on the TX line, so you can visually inspect when programming is done and finished. My primary reason for looking at this chip series was the 8-bit DAC output on PA6. Very few MCU's in this price range has a builtin DAC, so it is very handy for many types projects such as controlling devices based on voltage. One such example is controlling 0-10V motors/fans by just adding a small OpAmp circuit.

ATTinyX14-development board: common questions

What microcontroller does the ATTinyX14-development board use?

The ATTinyX14-development board is built around the ATTINY1614-SSNR, from the AVR/Arduino family.

How big is the ATTinyX14-development board?

The ATTinyX14-development board measures 39.4 × 16.2 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the ATTinyX14-development board?

23 components, from 17 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the ATTinyX14-development board design files?

From the jenschr/ATTinyX14-development-board repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the ATTinyX14-development board design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which jenschr chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the ATTinyX14-development board without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
