About the Ohmmeter-Zabex PCB

Ohmmeter-Zabex is an open source AVR/Arduino PCB design by jlegen, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 82.4 × 92.3 mm, with 33 components from 24 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ATMEGA88PA-MU, from the AVR/Arduino family. Other key parts include the MCP1640BCH and TP4056. By type, the board carries 14 resistors, 6 capacitors, 4 connectors, 3 ICs, 2 inductors and 1 battery holder.

It belongs with the displays & leds designs in this gallery.

Maybe you always have a lot of loose resistors lying around after your breadboard experiments, because sorting them back into the compartments is annoying and awkward. Then this thing is for you...

original project: http://www.zabex.de/site/ohmmeter.html modified for using LiIon cell: https://www.mikrocontroller.net/topic/489461 this version here is just a PCB to make it easy to build this little helper gadget; it uses a standard 0802 LCD display, which is easily available the footprint of the MCP1640 seems a bit odd - pin 1 is at the lower right (see photo)

Ohmmeter-Zabex: common questions

What microcontroller does the Ohmmeter-Zabex use?

The Ohmmeter-Zabex is built around the ATMEGA88PA-MU, from the AVR/Arduino family.

How big is the Ohmmeter-Zabex PCB?

The Ohmmeter-Zabex measures 82.4 × 92.3 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Ohmmeter-Zabex?

33 components, from 24 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Ohmmeter-Zabex design files?

From the jlegen/Ohmmeter-Zabex repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Ohmmeter-Zabex design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with jlegen. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Ohmmeter-Zabex without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
