About the Dracos-Macropad PCB
Dracos-Macropad is an open source RP2040/RP2350 PCB design by jo9182, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 62 × 42.8 mm, with 8 components from 3 distinct parts.
Its main chip is the XIAO-RP2040-DIP, from the RP2040/RP2350 family. By type, the board carries 5 switches, 2 diodes and 1 IC.
It belongs with the keyboards designs in this gallery.
From the project
Draco's Macropad! Likely for use with my wonderful soundboards.
I wanted to create a macropad that allowed me to effectively spam sounds at my friends whilst in group calls. A noble cause, is it not?
I haven't used any of this before (save for VSCode), so... there's that. Despite the difficulty of using these initally, I actually really enjoyed the PCB making process! Fusion360 was alright, but it burnt me out a lot more than KiCAD, despite the simplicity of what I was making.

Dracos-Macropad: common questions
What microcontroller does the Dracos-Macropad use?
The Dracos-Macropad is built around the XIAO-RP2040-DIP, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.
How big is the Dracos-Macropad PCB?
The Dracos-Macropad measures 62 × 42.8 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.
How many components are on the Dracos-Macropad?
8 components, from 3 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.
Where can I download the Dracos-Macropad design files?
From the jo9182/Dracos-Macropad repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.
Can I use the Dracos-Macropad design in my own project?
The repository has no license, so all rights stay with jo9182. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.
Can I test firmware for the Dracos-Macropad without the hardware?
Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
