About the Theboulevard PCB

Theboulevard is an open source AVR/Arduino PCB design by joedinkle, published on GitHub under the GPL-3.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 257.2 × 85.7 mm, with 154 components from 20 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ATMEGA32U4-MUR, from the AVR/Arduino family. By type, the board carries 87 relays, 52 diodes, 6 capacitors, 4 resistors, 2 connectors and 1 IC.

It belongs with the keyboards designs in this gallery.

Directions for assembling the top PCB can be found here

If using plate foam and a 6.25u or 7u bar, I recommend removing this portion of the foam to ensure smooth operation of the spacebar.

Use screws that require an allen key for screwing the bottom case to the top case. All other screws are the same.

Theboulevard: common questions

What microcontroller does the Theboulevard use?

The Theboulevard is built around the ATMEGA32U4-MUR, from the AVR/Arduino family.

How big is the Theboulevard PCB?

The Theboulevard measures 257.2 × 85.7 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Theboulevard?

154 components, from 20 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Theboulevard design files?

From the joedinkle/eyeohdesigns repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Theboulevard design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its GPL-3.0 license, which joedinkle chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Theboulevard without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
