About the Podregilo mainboard PCB

Podregilo mainboard is an open source AVR/Arduino PCB design by johannes-mueller, published on GitHub under the GPL-2.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 139.7 × 83.8 mm, with 70 components from 12 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the Arduino_Nano_Header, from the AVR/Arduino family. Other key parts include the 74LS165, 7400 and 74LS595. By type, the board carries 49 resistors, 8 connectors, 7 ICs and 6 capacitors.

It belongs with the audio designs in this gallery.

Hardware to control a podcasting DAW

Arduino based hardware to control a podcasting DAW.

By now this project is far from being useful. It might be interesting to other developers though.

We are developing and constructing an Arduino based hardware box to control our DAW while podcasting. The following features are planned:

* buttons to start, stop and prepare the recording

* LED indications of the meter levels of the voices

Podregilo mainboard: common questions

What microcontroller does the Podregilo mainboard use?

The Podregilo mainboard is built around the Arduino_Nano_Header, from the AVR/Arduino family.

How big is the Podregilo mainboard PCB?

The Podregilo mainboard measures 139.7 × 83.8 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Podregilo mainboard?

70 components, from 12 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Podregilo mainboard design files?

From the johannes-mueller/Podregilo repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Podregilo mainboard design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its GPL-2.0 license, which johannes-mueller chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Podregilo mainboard without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
