This folder contains the project files for the Worlds Worst Digital Dash (Gameboy Digital Dash) project. If attempting to recreate version 1 of the Arduino CANBUS card, please make a note of the included "Project Note" and "Project Note 2" pictures in the "Arduino Canbus Card" project folder, since I totally messed up the DB9 connector pinout and missed a trace leading to the 7805 voltage regulator. Also, I had to bridge some connections on top of the Arduino. Gotta admit, not my best work. The "reader.gb" file in the Gameboy Code folder is the pre-compiled binary that gets flashed to the…

Arduino Canbus Card: common questions

What microcontroller does the Arduino Canbus Card use?

The Arduino Canbus Card is built around the Arduino_Nano_v3.x, from the AVR/Arduino family.

How big is the Arduino Canbus Card PCB?

The Arduino Canbus Card measures 94.7 × 53.7 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Arduino Canbus Card?

6 components, from 6 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Arduino Canbus Card design files?

From the JohnSutley/Worlds-Worst-Digital-Dash repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Arduino Canbus Card design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with JohnSutley. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Arduino Canbus Card without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
