If attempting to recreate version 1 of the Arduino CANBUS card, please make a note of the included "Project Note" and "Project Note 2" pictures in the "Arduino Canbus Card" project folder, since I totally messed up the DB9 connector pinout and missed a trace leading to the 7805 voltage regulator. Also, I had to bridge some connections on top of the Arduino. Gotta admit, not my best work. The "reader.gb" file in the Gameboy Code folder is the pre-compiled binary that gets flashed to the…

Cart Ctrl Board v3: common questions

What microcontroller does the Cart Ctrl Board v3 use?

The Cart Ctrl Board v3 is built around the Arduino_Nano_v3.x, from the AVR/Arduino family.

How big is the Cart Ctrl Board v3?

The Cart Ctrl Board v3 measures 152 × 82.2 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Cart Ctrl Board v3?

25 components, from 23 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Cart Ctrl Board v3 design files?

From the JohnSutley/Worlds-Worst-Digital-Dash repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Cart Ctrl Board v3 design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with JohnSutley. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Cart Ctrl Board v3 without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
