About the PEMS-Meshtastic-Node PCB
PEMS-Meshtastic-Node is an open source Nordic nRF PCB design by JoshuaPorter0, published on GitHub. It is a board, with 15 components from 13 distinct parts.
Its main chip is the nRF5280_LEFT, from the Nordic nRF family. By type, the board carries 10 connectors, 3 resistors, 1 switch and 1 capacitor.
It belongs with the iot & wireless, rf & radio and power & battery designs in this gallery.
From the project
The Portable Environmental Mesh System (P.E.M.S.) is an autonomous, wearable microclimate monitoring device designed for outdoor enthusiasts, cyclists, hikers, and emergency personnel operating in remote or off-grid environments.
The Portable Environmental Mesh System (P.E.M.S.) is an autonomous, wearable microclimate monitoring device designed for outdoor enthusiasts, cyclists, hikers, and emergency personnel operating in remote or off-grid environments.
The system collects ambient weather metrics (Temperature, Relative Humidity, Barometric Pressure) and particulate air pollution (PM2.5), broadcasting telemetry across off-grid 915 MHz LoRa mesh networks (Meshtastic) while providing real-time visual safety feedback via an addressable NeoPixel LED Ring.

PEMS-Meshtastic-Node: common questions
What microcontroller does the PEMS-Meshtastic-Node use?
The PEMS-Meshtastic-Node is built around the nRF5280_LEFT, from the Nordic nRF family.
How many components are on the PEMS-Meshtastic-Node?
15 components, from 13 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.
Where can I download the PEMS-Meshtastic-Node design files?
From the JoshuaPorter0/PEMS-Meshtastic-Node repository on GitHub, which has the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.
Can I use the PEMS-Meshtastic-Node design in my own project?
The repository has no license, so all rights stay with JoshuaPorter0. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.
Can I test firmware for the PEMS-Meshtastic-Node without the hardware?
Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug Nordic nRF firmware against it before you order a PCB.
