About the Hzk65 PCB

Hzk65 is an open source RP2040/RP2350 PCB design by josugoar, published on GitHub under the MIT license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 314.3 × 100 mm, with 131 components from 9 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the RaspberryPi_Pico, from the RP2040/RP2350 family. By type, the board carries 65 switches, 65 diodes and 1 module.

It belongs with the keyboards designs in this gallery.

From the project

Modular assembly 65% keyboard

HizKey65 (/is̻ki/) is a modular assembly 65% keyboard with a socketed controller, hot-swap switch sockets, sandwich-mounted case and ANSI layout.

Built with KiCad and FreeCAD and manufactured by JLC Digital Manufacturing.

Hzk65: common questions

What microcontroller does the Hzk65 use?

The Hzk65 is built around the RaspberryPi_Pico, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.

How big is the Hzk65 PCB?

The Hzk65 measures 314.3 × 100 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Hzk65?

131 components, from 9 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Hzk65 design files?

From the josugoar/hzk65 repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Hzk65 design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which josugoar chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Hzk65 without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
