A 5V regulated, thermally-protected DC-DC buck converter designed from scratch in KiCad. The design converts a 7–15V DC input to a stable regulated 5V output at up to 2A, featuring over-current protection (polyfuse), reverse-polarity protection, freewheeling diodes, a heatsink mount for the LM2596, and a power indicator LED.
