About the Hate cbse PCB

Hate cbse is an open source RP2040/RP2350 PCB design by kermitsgonnakermicide, published on GitHub. It is a 4-layer board measuring 101.4 × 68 mm, with 68 components from 33 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the RP2350B, from the RP2040/RP2350 family. Other key parts include the TMC2209SILENTSTEPSTICK, NCP1117STAT3G, W25Q128JVSIQ and USBLC6-2SC6-ES. By type, the board carries 25 capacitors, 16 connectors, 14 resistors, 6 ICs, 3 diodes and 2 switches.

It belongs with the robotics & motion designs in this gallery.

From the project

a desk-sized CoreXY pen plotter with a custom RP2350 based motherboard!

for additional context, please view this youtube video ## enter, the hatecbse plotter - this is an awesome corexy plotter that has about 300x300 mm of usable space, good enough for all my sheets and stuff - its frame is built with 20x20 aluminium extrusion and is powered by NEMA17 stepper motors - while I initially thought I would skip on making a full on PCB for this project, you only hackclub once so I decided to make my own, printer motherboard-esque concotion around an RP2350B and the TMC2209 steppers(sticking with the breakout boards for that one purely because of cost) - firmware wise…

Hate cbse: common questions

What microcontroller does the Hate cbse use?

The Hate cbse is built around the RP2350B, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.

How big is the Hate cbse PCB?

The Hate cbse measures 101.4 × 68 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Hate cbse?

68 components, from 33 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Hate cbse design files?

From the kermitsgonnakermicide/hate-cbse repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Hate cbse design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with kermitsgonnakermicide. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Hate cbse without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
