About the Ortholinix left PCB

Ortholinix left is an open source Nordic nRF PCB design by KOHSUK, published on GitHub under the GPL-3.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 137.1 × 92 mm, with 65 components from 6 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the XIAO_nRF52840_wBAT_wNFC_1, from the Nordic nRF family. By type, the board carries 37 diodes, 26 switches, 1 IC and 1 battery holder.

It belongs with the keyboards and iot & wireless designs in this gallery.

Ortholinix left: common questions

What microcontroller does the Ortholinix left use?

The Ortholinix left is built around the XIAO_nRF52840_wBAT_wNFC_1, from the Nordic nRF family.

How big is the Ortholinix left PCB?

The Ortholinix left measures 137.1 × 92 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Ortholinix left?

65 components, from 6 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Ortholinix left design files?

From the KOHSUK/zmk-config-ortholinix repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Ortholinix left design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its GPL-3.0 license, which KOHSUK chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Ortholinix left without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug Nordic nRF firmware against it before you order a PCB.
