About the OpusPad PCB

OpusPad is an open source RP2040/RP2350 PCB design by LightestDark, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 100 × 56 mm, with 24 components from 6 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the Seeed Studio XIAO RP2040, from the RP2040/RP2350 family. By type, the board carries 15 diodes, 7 switches, 1 IC and 1 connector.

It belongs with the displays & leds designs in this gallery.

BOM: Seeed XIAO RP2040 Through-hole 1N4148 Diodes (6x) MX-Style switches (6x) EC11 Rotary encoders (1x) 0.91 inch OLED displays (1x) Blank DSA keycaps (White) (4x) SK6812 MINI-E LEDs (8x) M3x16mm screws (5x) M3x5mx4mm heatset inserts (5x)

Overview: I made this hackpad to add for my blender setup at home as a nice addition! Took inspiration from the orpheuspads 3d parts (etc took the model for the OLED)

OpusPad: common questions

What microcontroller does the OpusPad use?

The OpusPad is built around the Seeed Studio XIAO RP2040, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.

How big is the OpusPad PCB?

The OpusPad measures 100 × 56 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the OpusPad?

24 components, from 6 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the OpusPad design files?

From the LightestDark/OpusPad repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the OpusPad design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with LightestDark. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the OpusPad without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
