An RP2040-based acid bassline synthesizer and drum machine built on the Mozzi audio library. Three instruments in one device: a 16-step acid sequencer, a second synth voice called DRIFT, and a 16-pattern drum groove box, all running simultaneously on dual cores with a 320x240 ILI9341 TFT display and 16 Cherry MX pads.

Acid Synth: common questions
What microcontroller does the Acid Synth use?
The Acid Synth is built around the RaspberryPi_Pico, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.
How big is the Acid Synth PCB?
The Acid Synth measures 169 × 114.5 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.
How many components are on the Acid Synth?
33 components, from 13 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.
Where can I download the Acid Synth design files?
From the lonesoulsurfer/Acid_Drip_Bassline_and_Drum_Synth repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.
Can I use the Acid Synth design in my own project?
The repository has no license, so all rights stay with lonesoulsurfer. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.
Can I test firmware for the Acid Synth without the hardware?
Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
