About the Regulated-SEPIC-converter PCB

Regulated-SEPIC-converter is an open source PCB design by louisreg, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 56.2 × 30.2 mm, with 42 components from 25 distinct parts.

Other key parts include the ADP5071AREZ, LT3042EMSE-PBF and LT3094EMSE. By type, the board carries 5 connectors, 3 ICs and 2 inductors.

It belongs with the power & battery designs in this gallery.

From the project

An open-source and open-hardware benchtop neurostimulator offering precise, programmable, and arbitrary waveform generation for neuroscience research.

Additionally, the chip has flexibility in what kind of switching architecture is employed. Typically, the chip operates in a boost architecture, and the inverting converter works on the boosted voltage. However, the chip can also employ a modern SEPIC design, where the chip can either boost OR buck automatically based on the board configuration. The current configuration of the board is as a SEPIC converter. There are two LDOs (one for each rail) at the output to regulate the output as well. Note that the selected LDOs (LT3094 and LT3042/4) are only specced for 500mA on each regulator. If you…
