About the EspFanPwm PCB

EspFanPwm is an open source ESP8266 PCB design by lsr1, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 63 × 28 mm, with 13 components from 9 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the WeMos_D1_mini, from the ESP8266 family. By type, the board carries 6 connectors, 3 resistors and 1 capacitor.

It belongs with the iot & wireless designs in this gallery.

* You can't solder the MP1584 directly on the board even if you don't care about the mouting-hole: The holes for the pins are too small (only the female pin-headers fit, but no the male pinheaders directly). This might be changed on a v2 of the board.

EspFanPwm: common questions

What microcontroller does the EspFanPwm use?

The EspFanPwm is built around the WeMos_D1_mini, from the ESP8266 family.

How big is the EspFanPwm PCB?

The EspFanPwm measures 63 × 28 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the EspFanPwm?

13 components, from 9 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the EspFanPwm design files?

From the lsr1/EspFanPwm repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the EspFanPwm design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with lsr1. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the EspFanPwm without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP8266 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
