From the project

Rugged industrial I/O board in KiCad — ATmega1284P, CAN, isolated I/O, high-side switches, and motor drivers. Schematic complete, PCB routing in progress.

A rugged industrial I/O board designed in KiCad 10.

- Rev A: released to fabrication on 2026-10-05 (JLCPCB, 5 bare boards, 2 assembled). Not yet powered or tested. - Schematic: complete across four hierarchical sheets. ERC clean. - PCB layout: fully routed. DRC reports 0 errors and 4 library-mismatch warnings (J20, U1, U14, U7), which are intentional local footprint edits.

Robust io.before tp: common questions

What microcontroller does the Robust io.before tp use?

The Robust io.before tp is built around the ATMEGA1284P-A, from the AVR/Arduino family.

How big is the Robust io.before tp PCB?

The Robust io.before tp measures 160 × 100 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Robust io.before tp?

259 components, from 66 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Robust io.before tp design files?

From the lusher00/Robust-IO repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Robust io.before tp design in my own project?

It is published under Custom license, which limits how it may be reused; read the license before building on it.

Can I test firmware for the Robust io.before tp without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
