About the Makerlabs acm PCB
Makerlabs acm is an open source ESP32 PCB design by MakerLabsVan, published on GitHub under the MIT license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 100 × 100 mm, with 21 components from 19 distinct parts.
Its main chip is the ESP32_TTGO, from the ESP32 family. Other key parts include the 516-2189-5, TLP2161 and 1655-1915-1. By type, the board carries 6 resistors, 5 connectors, 5 capacitors and 4 ICs.
It belongs with the iot & wireless designs in this gallery.
From the project
MakerLabs Access Control Management (ACM) System
- Electrical: Install KiCad 5.0+: http://downloads.kicad-pcb.org/osx/nightly/
- Firmware/Software: Install homebrew macOS package manager:
- Configure firmware settings (Wifi SSID/password, Google Spreadsheet ID, etc):
- Build a firmware image, flash it to the connected board:
- Same as above, but also monitor the serial data and reboot after flashing:
- Build binaries for OTA firmware updates, upload them to Google Drive: (note: increment the number in the firmware/VERSION file to allow clients to download it)

Makerlabs acm: common questions
What microcontroller does the Makerlabs acm use?
The Makerlabs acm is built around the ESP32_TTGO, from the ESP32 family.
How big is the Makerlabs acm PCB?
The Makerlabs acm measures 100 × 100 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.
How many components are on the Makerlabs acm?
21 components, from 19 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.
Where can I download the Makerlabs acm design files?
From the MakerLabsVan/makerlabs-acm repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.
Can I use the Makerlabs acm design in my own project?
Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which MakerLabsVan chose for the repository.
Can I test firmware for the Makerlabs acm without the hardware?
Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
