About the Mmm PCB

Mmm is an open source Raspberry Pi PCB design by martamusikmaschine, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 66.5 × 70.8 mm, with 29 components from 28 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the RaspberryPiZeroW, from the Raspberry Pi family. Other key parts include the MPU6050 Gyro + Accelerometer, PCM5102 Audio Stereo DAC, PAM8406 Audio Amplifier, RDM6300 RFID Reader and OnOffShim. By type, the board carries 9 ICs, 6 connectors, 6 switches, 4 resistors, 2 speakers and 1 antenna.

It belongs with the audio and sensors designs in this gallery.

From the project

Marta Musik Maschine - DIY, RFID enabled, multi-purpose, audio and light device for kids

Marta Musik Maschine is a DIY, RFID enabled, multi-purpose, audio and light device for kids. It's open source and you can build one yourself. It's not hard at all, I promise.

This repository contains all the code needed on the Raspberry Pi, a KiCad project that enables you to etch/order a PCB and a few stl models that you can print on a 3D printer.

Mmm: common questions

What microcontroller does the Mmm use?

The Mmm is built around the RaspberryPiZeroW, from the Raspberry Pi family.

How big is the Mmm PCB?

The Mmm measures 66.5 × 70.8 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Mmm?

29 components, from 28 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Mmm design files?

From the martamusikmaschine/mmm repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Mmm design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with martamusikmaschine. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Mmm without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug Raspberry Pi firmware against it before you order a PCB.
