About the NRF52811 PCB

NRF52811 is an open source Nordic nRF PCB design by MartinWeigel, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 55.4 × 30.5 mm, with 22 components from 18 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the nRF52811-QFN32, from the Nordic nRF family. Other key parts include the TPS73633DBV. By type, the board carries 10 capacitors, 4 connectors, 2 ICs, 2 diodes, 2 resistors and 1 crystal.

It belongs with the iot & wireless designs in this gallery.

From the project

A test board for the nRF52811 made with KiCad

This is the schematics and footprint of a basic board with the nRF52811 microcontroller from Nordic Semiconductor. This microcontroller supports Bluetooth Low Energy 5.1. The board contains one LED and can be powered either over Micro-USB or a Li-Po battery. It requires a SWD-capable programmer for programming and debugging.

The board was primarily designed for testing and familiarizing myself with KiCad 5.1.

NRF52811: common questions

What microcontroller does the NRF52811 use?

The NRF52811 is built around the nRF52811-QFN32, from the Nordic nRF family.

How big is the NRF52811 PCB?

The NRF52811 measures 55.4 × 30.5 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the NRF52811?

22 components, from 18 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the NRF52811 design files?

From the MartinWeigel/nRF52811 repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the NRF52811 design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with MartinWeigel. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the NRF52811 without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug Nordic nRF firmware against it before you order a PCB.
