About the DoMo-Macro-Pad PCB

DoMo-Macro-Pad is an open source AVR/Arduino PCB design by MayTD, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 84.9 × 65.1 mm, with 27 components from 7 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ProMicro, from the AVR/Arduino family. By type, the board carries 11 switches, 10 diodes, 4 LEDs and 1 IC.

It belongs with the displays & leds and keyboards designs in this gallery.

From the project

A 3x3 macro pad with a rotary encoder and OLED display.

DoMo is a 3x3 macro pad with a rotary encoder and OLED display. It's a straightforward design with a straightforward idea. I originally designed this for myself to provide quick access to most commonly used keys especially for programming. That means the top priority were to include shortcuts for copy and paste! However this can also be used just as any other macro pads for media controls to help improve workflow.

DoMo-Macro-Pad: common questions

What microcontroller does the DoMo-Macro-Pad use?

The DoMo-Macro-Pad is built around the ProMicro, from the AVR/Arduino family.

How big is the DoMo-Macro-Pad PCB?

The DoMo-Macro-Pad measures 84.9 × 65.1 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the DoMo-Macro-Pad?

27 components, from 7 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the DoMo-Macro-Pad design files?

From the MayTD/DoMo-Macro-Pad repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the DoMo-Macro-Pad design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with MayTD. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the DoMo-Macro-Pad without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
