About the Connected sensor PCB

Connected sensor is an open source ESP8266 PCB design by mbouyer, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 110 × 70 mm, with 39 components from 28 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ESP8266-DEV, from the ESP8266 family. Other key parts include the MAX4460ESA, PIC18F25Q10, IRM-03-5 and MIC5504-3.3. By type, the board carries 15 resistors, 8 connectors, 6 capacitors, 4 ICs, 1 module and 1 transistor.

It belongs with the iot & wireless and sensors designs in this gallery.

From the project

Connected sensor: common questions

What microcontroller does the Connected sensor use?

The Connected sensor is built around the ESP8266-DEV, from the ESP8266 family.

How big is the Connected sensor PCB?

The Connected sensor measures 110 × 70 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Connected sensor?

39 components, from 28 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Connected sensor design files?

From the mbouyer/controle_commande_connecte repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Connected sensor design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with mbouyer. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Connected sensor without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP8266 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
