About the MStereo2 PCB

MStereo2 is an open source PCB design by mgosselin, published on GitHub. It is a 4-layer board measuring 159.5 × 120 mm, with 118 components from 34 distinct parts.

Other key parts include the ISO7640, CDCLVC1104, MCP100-315DI, SRC4192 and LT1761. By type, the board carries 53 capacitors, 37 resistors, 12 ICs, 9 diodes, 5 connectors and 1 crystal.

It belongs with the audio designs in this gallery.

From the project

a two-channel fully-differential digital-to-analog converter

mStereo is a two-channel digital-to-analog converter (DAC) for audio. It is under active development.

This repo is built and maintained with Linux users in mind. Some contents are .pdf or plain text so the repo may be cloned and those files may be opened irrespective of the platform. Users wishing to use the Kicad project and other Kicad files by cloning and/or forking the repo can do so in Linux: no support is implied for OSX or windows users (although generally, OSX users should experience no problems).

MStereo2: common questions

How big is the MStereo2 PCB?

The MStereo2 measures 159.5 × 120 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the MStereo2?

118 components, from 34 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the MStereo2 design files?

From the mgosselin/mStereo2 repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the MStereo2 design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with mgosselin. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.
