About the Granola plateau PCB

Granola plateau is an open source RP2040/RP2350 PCB design by michaelswitzer, published on GitHub under the CC-BY-NC-4.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 248 × 146 mm, with 55 components from 18 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the C2040, from the RP2040/RP2350 family. Other key parts include the C97521, C5250994 and C5250992. By type, the board carries 22 switches, 17 capacitors, 8 resistors, 4 ICs, 2 diodes and 1 crystal.

It belongs with the keyboards designs in this gallery.

Granola Plateau: a fighting game controller for platform fighters

The Plateau is a button box style arcade controller by Granola Arcade.

You can buy the Plateau at https://granola.games

The .step file for the case is optimized for FDM 3D printers. I recommend PLA with at least 15% infill but you can use any material you wish. It should already be aligned in the correct orientation.

The keycap files are also included, for use with Kailh Choc V2 stems (MX style). You may need to adjust the x-y hole and contour compensation values in your slicer for proper fitment.

Granola plateau: common questions

What microcontroller does the Granola plateau use?

The Granola plateau is built around the C2040, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.

How big is the Granola plateau PCB?

The Granola plateau measures 248 × 146 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Granola plateau?

55 components, from 18 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Granola plateau design files?

From the michaelswitzer/granola-plateau repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Granola plateau design in my own project?

It is published under CC-BY-NC-4.0, which limits how it may be reused; read the license before building on it.

Can I test firmware for the Granola plateau without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
