About the Keyboard PCB

Keyboard is an open source RP2040/RP2350 PCB design by Midaah-r, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 308 × 126 mm, with 135 components from 10 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the Raspberry_Pi_Pico, from the RP2040/RP2350 family. By type, the board carries 67 switches, 67 diodes and 1 IC.

It belongs with the keyboards designs in this gallery.

From the project

a fully custom keyboard built from scratch

- compact & sleek - 66x keys! - Tweaked 65% layout - 1x EC11 Rotary Encoder - For Volume, Brightness, etc - powered by rp pico - KMK firmware - WOBBLY WIGGLY silkscreen

This is my first project of this scale and it was an amazing experience building this, i got to learn a lot!

I would like to thank hackclub's hackapad tutorial, Joe Scotto and Google, you guys were my saviors.

Keyboard: common questions

What microcontroller does the Keyboard use?

The Keyboard is built around the Raspberry_Pi_Pico, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.

How big is the Keyboard PCB?

The Keyboard measures 308 × 126 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Keyboard?

135 components, from 10 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Keyboard design files?

From the Midaah-r/keyboard repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Keyboard design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with Midaah-r. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Keyboard without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
