From the project

MuKOB (μKOB) - MorseKOB for a microcontroller-based platform.

Raspberry Pi Pico W (RP2040 CPU) based device with a built-in display and a terminal interface. Uses built-in wifi to connect to the MorseKOB Server.

It interfaces to a KOB, Key + Sounder, Key + Tone, Paddle + Tone, etc. to provide Morse input and output. The device can operate completely stand-alone (using the display-touchscreen) or it can connect to a VT-220 terminal (or emulator like Putty) to provide a larger interface and allow keyboard input.

MuKOB Main Board: common questions

What microcontroller does the MuKOB Main Board use?

The MuKOB Main Board is built around the PicoW, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.

How big is the MuKOB Main Board?

The MuKOB Main Board measures 123.2 × 125.7 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the MuKOB Main Board?

119 components, from 83 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the MuKOB Main Board design files?

From the MorseKOB/MuKOB repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the MuKOB Main Board design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which MorseKOB chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the MuKOB Main Board without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
