From the project
Two-tone audio alert circuit built with CD40106B Hex Schmitt Trigger ICs; PCB designed in KiCad from schematic to fabrication.
EGB240 Electronic Design — Assessment 1: PCB Alarm Circuit Design
This project implements a battery-powered, two-tone siren circuit as a single-sided through-hole PCB. The design uses all six inverters of a single CD40106B Hex Schmitt Trigger IC to generate two alternating audio tones, drive alternating status LEDs, and switch between tones automatically — with no microcontroller required.
