About the Lpkbv1 PCB

Lpkbv1 is an open source RP2040/RP2350 PCB design by nimitvijayvargee, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 312.5 × 145 mm, with 182 components from 11 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the RaspberryPi_Pico, from the RP2040/RP2350 family. By type, the board carries 91 switches, 84 diodes, 3 connectors, 2 resistors, 1 module and 1 battery holder.

It belongs with the iot & wireless, keyboards and power & battery designs in this gallery.

From the project

Low profile Wireless BLE Keyboard

This is my attpemt of making a wireless low profile keyboard. It uses the RP2040 in the form of a Pi Pico, and follows the ANSI75 layout. It is plateless mount, and can use a regular lipo or li-ion cell for wireless. It is designed with the Pico W in mind. The switches are following the Gateron KS-33 Low Profile switches, and any Low Profile MX keycaps (Cross Stem) can be used. The firmware is currently only QMK, but it does not support the wireless features of the keyboard. As of writing this, a KMK port which supports wireless is in the works.

Lpkbv1: common questions

What microcontroller does the Lpkbv1 use?

The Lpkbv1 is built around the RaspberryPi_Pico, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.

How big is the Lpkbv1 PCB?

The Lpkbv1 measures 312.5 × 145 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Lpkbv1?

182 components, from 11 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Lpkbv1 design files?

From the nimitvijayvargee/lpkbv1 repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Lpkbv1 design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with nimitvijayvargee. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Lpkbv1 without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
